Design and implementation details of a low cost sensorless emulator for variable speed wind turbines

In this paper, a low cost wind turbine emulator (WTE) is designed and implemented. The aim accurately simulating the nonlinear behaviors characteristics of real turbine. It well known that each has its own power coefficient characteristic. This work contains an analysis WTE by considering main models in literature. Speed sensor one most important component used to provide shaft speed information. latter will increase greatly system volume control scheme. our work, we propose cheapest solution using second-order sliding-mode observer based on super-twisting algorithm. Note accurate estimation essential maintain good simulation characteristics. closed loop operation ensured fuzzy logic technique. Experimental results confirm effectiveness proposed sensorless solution.
